| NPO Connection of the Children: CoC (Nishi-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture) will be holding an event on October 8th (Tuesday 18th) as part of the “Peace United'' platform for learning about various paths toward peace and finding one's own path. :30, we will hold an event to think about peace, share our thoughts, and gather ways to contribute to peace. | -October PU meeting will be held on the 8th (Tuesday) from 18:30- | At the 9th Peace United meeting, we will be inviting Chiho Ogaya, who works closely with mixed-roots families in Japan to solve their problems, as a speaker. | In Japan, the term “Hafu” is well-established, but in reality, even if one parent is Japanese, there are many people and children who are not half-Japanese but have multiple roots. For this reason, the term “mixed roots” has come into use recently. Furthermore, due to family circumstances, cultural differences, nationality, etc., these children face different problems than those with Japanese parents. | Mr. Ogaya is involved in support activities to eliminate the difficulties faced by children with mixed roots and their families. Specifically, I heard that they provide protection support and learning support, but what kind of work do they do? I'm sure you're all curious too. | At this PU meeting, Mr. Ogaya introduced the details of his activities and what he had learned through his work, and together with everyone, I felt a warm feeling that children in the community can take on any challenge, regardless of their roots. I would like to think about how we can create a connected society = a peaceful society. Please listen to Mr. Ogaya's story and discuss it with us at the venue or online! | | Speaker: Chiho Ogaya | Since 2000, while studying in the Philippines, she has been involved in the activities of DAWN (Development Action for Women Network), which works to empower migrant women who have returned from Japan and their children, JFC (Japanese Filipino Children).
