After graduating from high school, I joined a company that processed steel products, and then joined Onoken mid-career. At Onoken, I was assigned to the engineering department of the construction machinery department and was involved in various construction sites. I gained experience in construction work up to the level of supervisor, and in April of this year, I was appointed as the manager of the newly established Safety and Quality Control Office. Q: Please tell me the role of the Safety and Quality Control Office. Until now, Onoken had implemented safety measures at each site, but the company as a whole was not able to manage safety. Therefore, we would like to establish a system that allows the entire Onoken Group, centered on the Safety and Quality Control Office, to manage the safety of warehouses and construction sites, and aim for zero accidents. Q: What kind of work does the Safety Management Office do? In April, we created a “warehouse safety manual” and a “morning assembly manual” in an effort to establish a unified safety awareness throughout the Onoken Group. We are currently conducting warehouse safety patrols in each area, which are scheduled to end in October. Starting in November, we plan to create a “Construction Site Safety Manual,” and once it is completed, we will carry out safety patrols at construction sites in an effort to improve safety awareness throughout the group.
