Keio Plaza Hotel (Shinjuku) and Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji, operated by Keio Plaza Hotel Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: Nishi-Shinjuku, President: Katsumasa Wakabayashi), together with Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo (Hokkaido: Sapporo, President: Toshito Honda), are located in Japan. For the first time as a hotel chain, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (R) (hereinafter referred to as “GSTC”) will establish and manage international standards for sustainable travel and tourism from October 1, 2024. We will join. At the Keio Plaza Hotel Chain, we strive to contribute to society by enriching our core business activities, with the desire to be a plaza where a wide range of customers can gather and relax, and a place for encounters and interactions that transcend national and racial boundaries. With this in mind, we have been working on barrier-free and environmental measures. In particular, our promotion of universal services, which we have pioneered in the industry, has been highly praised, and on September 10, 2021, we received certification under the “Mental Barrier-Free Certification System for Tourist Facilities” established by the Japan Tourism Agency. With this membership, we will be able to utilize GSTC’s specialized knowledge and worldwide network regarding SDG quality in tourism. As we welcome many foreign tourists, we will provide all our guests with a comfortable and environmentally friendly stay based on international standards and contribute to the
realization of a sustainable society. ■About the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) An international non-profit organization that manages the GSTC Criteria, the international standard for sustainable travel and tourism.
