His 1st album “Junior Refugee” was released on Salvaged Tapes in 2015. Their activities span a wide range of areas, including not only providing and remixing music for movies and TV commercials, but also supporting vocals, synths, and choruses. Ishibashi has not only collaborated with leading Japanese musicians of his generation such as Shun Ishiwaka (Answer to Remember, CRCK/LCKS, SMTK), Daiki Tsuneta (King Gnu, millennium parade), and Fumitake Ezaki (WONK). He has also performed with world-renowned musicians such as Eiko, Jim O’Rourke, Phew, and Codeine. Furthermore, he has been selected as a guest performer in the works of MONDO GROSSO, Tokyo Shio Koji, Sen Morimoto, and Maika Loubte, and has continued to interact with artists active in Japan and abroad. In 2018, he formed black boboi with Utena Kobayashi and Julia Shortreed, and will appear at the Red Marquee of “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’19” and Mutek.JP in 2023. Since 2019, he has also participated in the Millennium Parade led by Daiki Tsuneta. ermhoi’s band formation project ermhoi with the Attention Please has Utena Kobayashi, Shun Ishiwaka, Marty Holoubek, and Taikimen as its main members, and is reconstructing electro music using live instruments. His father was Saburo Aoshima, a Western painter who was active in Finland and other countries. In 2005, he joined the progressive rock band ZANZO and performed at SXSW2005 and other shows. In 2007, he entered the performance department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied drums with Terri Lyne Carrington and Dave Dicenso, and began composing at the same time. Completed the bachelor’s course at the same school in 2011. In 2012, he participated in two songs on the compilation album “20 by 10″ by London’s Sup peeps record. In 2013, he released his solo album “Close Down” from Somehow Recordings in London. In the same year, he moved his base of activities to Berlin. In 2014, he joined the unit Locust Fudge by Schneider TM and Krite, and participated in all songs as a drummer on the album “Oscillation” released in 2018. The recording was
co-produced with guest musicians Ulrich Krieger (Lou Reed, Metal Machine Trio) and J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.). A release show was held at Berghain and Cantine. In the same year, Schlafwagen performed at Fusion Festival, an important festival in Europe. “Rotten Cats,” a collaboration with Swedish film director Johan Planefeldt, who provided the music for a short film, won “The Pool18 Pearls Award.” As a composer, he is in charge of all the songs for “Shinsekai Into the Depths” released by CAPCOM in 2019. He is also active in theaters both in Germany and abroad.
