A project that takes shape. Currently, we have set up labs on the internet in six cities in Japan: Tokyo, Hitachi, Kyoto, Nagoya, Akita, and Fukuoka, and are continuing creative activities with nearly 100 members as a participatory art project. So far, we have produced cathode ray tube televisions, electric fans, ventilation fans, video cameras, We have turned many home appliances such as air conditioners and telephones into musical instruments. In March 2024, we held the “Electromagnetic Parade” at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, and from August we held five electromagnetic Bon Odori tours. Through people’s ingenuity, we actively translate the original functions of electrical appliances into musical instruments, and weave fantasies every day, dreaming up “electromagnetic folk music” and its festivals born from worn-out technology.
