JR East View Tourism & Sales Co., Ltd. Press release: October 18, 2024 Due to popular demand, we are launching the “Miyagi Sake Enjoyment Series [Part 2]”, which combines brewers in Miyagi Prefecture and local tourism materials! This time, we will be taking the “Southern Prefecture Course, 1 night and 2 days,” a sake trip specializing in Miyagi Prefecture’s alcoholic beverages.

The water for preparation is underground water from Zao, which is pumped from 50 meters underground within the brewery premises. In order to cultivate rice suitable for sake brewing, which is used to make specially named sake, we have realized a series of cycles in which sake lees is used as part of fertilizer to return sake to rice. It expresses the unique taste of this region. Sasaki Sake Brewery Store Although the sake brewery was completely destroyed and washed away by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the following year, in December 2012, they set up a temporary sake brewery filled with support and ideas from various people and resumed sake brewing. Approximately eight and a half years after the earthquake, a new sake brewery was built in Yuriage, the place where the company was founded. With the mission of “brewing sake that is close to the castle, Yuriage,” we continue to brew the “sound of the treasure ship waves” that serves as a source of energy for the region.

Enjoy the deliciousness of the sea with our seafood bowls made with local, seasonal ingredients and paired with local sake.
