municipalities of Fukushima, cast comments released ●Future Work Fukushima Immigration Seminar will be held for the first time in Sendai! ● Drama “Kazefukushima” whose theme is migration to the 12 municipalities of Fukushima, cast comments released The Fukushima 12 Municipality Immigration Support Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) aims to arouse interest in migration through video content aimed at young people in their 20s and 30s in the Tokyo metropolitan area, who are the main target for migration promotion. We are currently cooperating with the production of the drama
“Kazefukushima” produced by TV Tokyo. This is a one-episode human drama that focuses on 12 real-life migrants. We interviewed model migrants and learned how they took on challenges and emigrated despite struggles and setbacks, and how they grew through interaction with the people of Fukushima Prefecture, and drew inspiration from them. The story will be told in an omnibus format. Filming will begin in October on location, mainly in 12 municipalities in Fukushima, and will be broadcast on TV Tokyo on Drama 25 (every Friday from 24:42 a.m.) starting January 10, 2025.

Although he is working hard in Futaba Town, which is said to be the last runner in the reconstruction of Fukushima, he is saddened by the poor reputation he receives from the children. [Comment] Reconstruction from the Great Earthquake. Don’t let this unprecedented event fade into obscurity. I feel very rewarding and responsible to be able to participate in a drama that can contribute to these two major themes. As a person from Tohoku, I would like to do my best. ■Haru Kuroki/Hitomi Oga After getting married, she moved to Kawamata Town. She used to live as a housewife, but through warm interactions with people in the town and the marriage of a friend, she found what she wanted to do. [Comment] I’ve heard that Fukushima today has a power full of hope, with efforts to rebuild with an eye to the future, rather than trying to return it to its pre-earthquake state. I am happy to be able to participate in a work that depicts Fukushima moving forward, and I will do my best to help in any way I can. ■Daiki Sato (EXILE/FANTASTICS) / Yushin Nakamura He has a history of being selected to represent Japan in equestrian competitions. With a desire to raise the social status of horses, he decides to move to Minamisoma City, where living with horses is deeply rooted, but… [Comment] The main character I play, Nakamura, is an honest and passionate young man who moves to Minamisoma City, a city that walks with horses, and strives to realize his dream of improving the social status of horses and making equestrian sports a major sport. is. The people he meets in Minamisoma City are all warm-hearted and full of humanity. Please watch over Nakamura’s growth as he always challenges difficulties and obstacles with all his might, doing whatever it takes to achieve the things he has decided for himself and the goals he has set for himself! Fukushima Prefecture is where my grandparents live, and it’s my favorite place to visit every year since I was a child. I will do my best to convey the charm of Fukushima Prefecture through this work. ■Kiyohiko Shibukawa/Shinichiro Todo Editor of a magazine specializing in the motorcycle competition “Trials.” Through interactions with his friend Saaya Kaze, he decides to carry out a trial town
revitalization plan in Kawauchi Village. [Comment] The drama is based on people who have moved to Fukushima and have feelings for Fukushima in their own way. I will be entering the world of director Satoshi Miki with this story as a background, and I am looking forward to the many fantastical and rich days ahead. I would be happy if I could entrust director Miki with what I have and create something
interesting. ■Taro Suruga / Tamotsu Osako A hotel manager born and raised in Hirono Town. He is also active as a local surfer, and plans a project to revitalize Hirono Town, where the population has decreased due to the earthquake. [Comment] When I was approached this time, I was told that there would be a terrestrial TV drama about surfing! I was filled with surprise and joy. I don’t know if I’m good at it, but I think my love for surfing is stronger than anyone else in this industry. Being able to surf while working is nothing short of amazing. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, I believe that the people affected by the disaster have gone through so much hardship that even if I wanted to, I would not be able to understand. In such a situation, I sincerely hope that this drama will be of some help to the reconstruction efforts. ■Kyoya Honda/Takehiro Tabuse Moved from Saitama Prefecture with feelings for Katsurao Village in mind. While training with a livestock farmer, he meets Mitsuhashi, who is riding his bicycle across Japan. [Comment] My name is Kyouya Honda, and I will be playing the role of Takehiro Tabuse. I will be participating in this work, which is a story set in Katsurao village in Fukushima prefecture. The boy I play, Tabuse, was created based on the image of a real person who immigrated from outside the prefecture and now works at a livestock farm. Why did he move to Katsurao Village, why did he decide to become a livestock farmer, and what kind of wonderful place is Katsurao Village? I hope that I can convey the goodness of this village to everyone who watches it through my role and work. ≪Staff comments≫ ■Producer Fumiyama Umeyama (TV Tokyo) A former Minister of Reconstruction, a candle maker, a pastry chef, a former equestrian businessman, and more… Immigrants living their own lives while achieving what they want to do in life. Using 12 such real people as models, we have created an omnibus drama depicting their lives. During the interviews to come up with the plot, the immigrants did not show any offence, even when I contacted them out of the blue, saying, “If I can do anything,” they cooperated. I was really happy about that, and I felt kind of energized after the interview. Following on from “My Niece Mei,” which will be aired in 2023, I also feel that making a drama with Mr. Aono, who came up with a project set in the 12 municipalities of Fukushima, is fulfilling “what I want to do in life.” It’s fun to do. We are currently in the midst of preparatory work for filming, and Aono seems to be enjoying it, saying, “Every day has something going on, so it’s tough.” We have carefully created 12 stories about immigrants in a fun and positive manner. When you need a little bit of energy, if you tune in to this drama, I’m sure you’ll look forward to tomorrow. Also pay attention to the wonderful cast members! considering working, living, or taking up the challenge of working in Fukushima’s 12 municipalities. It has been decided that the event will be held for the first time in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, which is adjacent to Fukushima Prefecture and receives many inquiries regarding migration consultations. The theme this time is “Why we chose Fukushima’s 12 municipalities.” Guests will talk about their challenges in the 12 municipalities of Fukushima, why they decided to move to Fukushima, what makes them attractive, their daily lives and work, and will introduce their activities and talk about their work in panel discussions. We will also explain the various support systems of Fukushima’s 12 municipalities. Furthermore, this time we will be holding a workshop titled “Create your own Fukushima 12 migration experience tour.” We will create a tour plan that allows you to visit only the places you want to see at your own pace, rather than following a pre-established tour, together with speakers and immigration consultation staff who are familiar with the local circumstances of the 12 municipalities.
