Hoshino Resort Press release: November 7, 2024 [Kai Tsugaru] “Tsugaru Nanayuki Kamakura Apero” will be held, where you can enjoy Oma’s tuna amuse and limited edition sake inspired by the Tsugaru Seven Snows | Period: February 1st to 28th, 2025 ～This year, “Nanayuki Amuse” using Oma tuna is now available～ KAI Tsugaru, a hot spring inn located in Owani Onsen, Aomori Prefecture, will hold the “Tsugaru Seven Snows Kamakura Apero” in the Tsugaru Four Seasons Water Garden from February 1st to 28th, 2025. At KAI Tsugaru, during the winter season, our staff creates original Nanayuki Kamakura from scratch. The outer walls of the kamakura are lit with “Kogin magic lanterns” decorated with the seven snowflakes pattern of Tsugaru’s traditional craft “Kogin-zashi”, brightening up the winter in Tsugaru. Additionally, this year, a new “Nanayuki Amuse” made with Oma tuna has been introduced. We will serve an amuse of seven kinds of Oma tuna along with local sake selected according to the type of snow that will fall that day.

Osamu Dazai, a great writer from the Tsugaru region, divided the snow that falls in Tsugaru into seven types in his travelogue “Tsugaru.” There is a depth to the delicate snow that can only be experienced in this area, which has a deep affinity for snow. We hope you will enjoy a special time that can only be experienced here while enjoying the “Seven Snows” with your five senses in the magical Tsugaru Four Seasons Water Garden covered in a blanket of snow. With this in mind, we devised this activity. Feature 1 Seven Snow Kamakura installed in the Tsugaru Four Seasons Water Garden In winter, the Tsugaru Four Seasons Water Garden is a special space surrounded by snow-covered trees and pure white snow. In the center of the water garden, which was originally a pond, our staff will build a seven snow kamakura from scratch. The seven magic lanterns are all different in color and pattern, and use the traditional basic pattern of Tsugaru’s
traditional craft “Kogin-zashi” called “Modoko” to represent snowflakes. When the sun goes down, colorful kogin magic lanterns brightly illuminate the water garden, adding color to the moment before dinner.
