In order to lead the future aesthetic medicine industry, we aim to share the latest knowledge and technology and increase patient satisfaction and treatment safety. By opening the door to a new era, we hope to contribute to the
development of aesthetic medicine and provide beauty to more patients. What we were conscious of when holding the JAPSA general meeting was the opportunity to see and learn directly from the techniques of aesthetic medicine experts. The current situation is that there is a strong sense of competition in the aesthetic medicine industry, and there are many doctors who are unwilling to share their technology. However, JAPSA’s purpose is to “cultivate doctors who will lead the aesthetic medicine industry,” and all participating doctors can learn techniques and improve each other. We will continue to work hard to provide a place where you can appropriately acquire the latest techniques and knowledge while improving the technical capabilities and safety of surgical procedures. ■Characteristics of this general meeting and introduction of noteworthy course contents 1. Video symposium where you can watch and learn directly For the video symposium, which is the most distinctive feature of JAPSA, we invite cosmetic surgeons and plastic surgeons who have extensive case histories. Representative Director Teranishi explained the key points while watching a video of the surgery. 2. Lectures by distinguished guests We have invited several famous cosmetic surgeons who are active in Korea, Europe, and other parts of the world. He gave a lecture on the latest treatments. We also invited Mr. Takafumi Horie, also known as Horiemon, as a special guest, and he gave a lecture on the future of medical care and business from the perspective of a businessman. 3. Workshop focusing on career development for female doctors We held a workshop focused on career development for female doctors who are busy with work, childcare, etc. Five female doctors with different backgrounds took to the stage, each presented their career development models, and opinions were exchanged.

Dr. Yusuke Shimizu from the Department of Plastic Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, took the stage. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Shimizu worked in the surgical department of 12 hospitals, and in 2015, at the age of 42, he became the youngest professor of plastic surgery in Japan at the time, becoming a professor of plastic surgery at the University of the Ryukyus. During the lecture, he started by talking about his own upbringing, and talked about the development of medical devices such as plastic muscle hooks with glowing tips, the launch of regenerative medicine research using adipose stem cells, the use of venture companies established based on this research, and the acquisition of research funds. The method was introduced.

It was also shown that a shortcut to improving one’s humanity and luck, which are the foundation of everything, is to have a mindset of “compromising one’s own rightness.” During the Q&A session, the question “Dr. Shimizu mentioned that there was a time when he was too busy with a venture company to be in the clinical setting. How did you manage the organization at that time?” Instead, he practiced servant leadership, which encourages each member from below.By taking care of each member and making each member happy, the organization will improve as a result.Leaders should always maintain a sense of humility. I think it’s important.”
