As part of the Nippon Foundation’s “Ocean and Japan Project,” this event will dig up local ocean memories centered on lighthouses, connect regions to regions, different fields to different industries, Japan and the world, and create new ocean experiences. Onomichi City, which faces the Seto Inland Sea, is home to several historic lighthouses, including Ohamasaki Lighthouse, which was designated as a national important cultural property in August of this year. It has prospered as a key point for maritime transportation since ancient times, and the city is still dotted with shrines and temples that were built with donations from wealthy merchants from various eras. The unique streetscape, with its nostalgic streets and streets lined with slopes and stairs, is a popular filming location for video productions, and in recent years has become known as a “holy place for cyclists.” On the other hand, due to changes in tourism demand in recent years, the utilization rate of accommodation facilities in Onomichi has been declining. At the Onomichi Lighthouse Terrace Project, we aim to reconsider Onomichi’s lighthouses as a tourist resource and stimulate tourism demand by developing

This time, as the first step, we will take a cruise to see the lighthouse from the sea for the monitors we have recruited in advance, and play a mystery game (Murder Mystery) about lighthouses on board.
