Takatsuki City press release (2024.11.14) Takatsuki City JR Takatsuki Station, the nearest station to the New Kansai Shogi Center, and its surroundings are all filled with shogi Decoration inside the station from November 16th In conjunction with the grand opening of the New Kansai Shogi Hall on Tuesday, December 3, 2020, Takatsuki City is collaborating with JR West Japan to open JR Takatsuki Station, the nearest station to the new hall, in order to further enliven the opening of the new hall. Decorations related to shogi will be placed on the platform and around the station to promote the idea of “Takatsuki, the town of shogi.” The decorations will be available for viewing from Saturday, November 16th.

Furthermore, on the boundary fence around the station, there is a design showing a total of 27 female shogi players and shogi players belonging to the Kansai headquarters of the Japan Shogi Federation playing against each other, as well as a design that shows a total of 27 female shogi players playing against each other. There will also be decorations introducing initiatives such as distributing shogi pieces made from wood from Takatsuki to all first-year students and holding the Takatsuki Shogi Festival.
