Press Release: August 28, 2025 “Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival 2025” Exhibition Art Special Exhibition “Speculative Music/Narrative” to be held at LUCUA Osaka ~Special art exhibition featuring popular Vocaloid artists~ Lucua Osaka (Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka), a fashion building directly connected to Osaka Station and operated by JR West SC Development Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Yasushi Takenaka), will be hosting a special art exhibition, “Speculative Music/Narrative School,” from Sunday, September 14, 2025, to Monday, October 13, 2025 (national holiday). This exhibition will be held as part of the “Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival 2025” exhibition program, and will feature artwork by popular Vocaloid artists who are at the forefront of internet culture.

Exhibition Contents Following the previous art festivals “Expanding Music” and “Music Existing Together,” which attracted a total of 5,000 visitors, this year’s fourth exhibition will feature artwork by popular Vocaloid artists on the theme of “Speculative Music.” In today’s society, where short videos and instant stimuli are the norm, how can the profound questions and narratives inherent in art reach the hearts of young people? Through an exhibition space divided into three themes—”Awareness,” “Dialogue,” and “Harmony”—visitors will be offered an interactive art experience that stimulates their
sensibilities and actions. All works include full music, creating a composition that combines entertainment and thought. Together with pioneers of internet music, we present a new form of art that inspires imagination for the future and inspires behavioral change.
Limited-edition merchandise related to the exhibited works will also be on sale. Enjoy a new experience where art and everyday life intersect as a sudden burst of creative inspiration in the shopping space of LUCUA Osaka. Having been held three times in Osaka since 2022, this year’s festival is collaborating with the Osaka-Kansai Expo, with 93 artists and groups from 24 countries and regions participating (as of June 8). The festival will take place in various iconic locations in Osaka, including the Expo site on Yumeshima, Osaka Culturarium Tempozan, Umekita, Nishinari, Semba, Matsubara City, Expo Commemoration Park, the National Museum of Ethnology, and the Osaka Prefectural
