The title track, “GENKI,” is an ambitious piece that samples Scha Dara Parr’s 1994 opening theme song, “Welcome to Ponkickies (GET UP AND DANCE),” for the popular children’s program “Ponkickies,” which aired on Fuji TV and BS Fuji and featured Gachapin and Mukku. The song makes striking use of the nostalgic phrase “Genki!! Courage!” and combines a pop and catchy sound with elements of 90s hip hop. Additionally, the music video for “GENKI,” the title track from the first EP, will premiere on UN1CON’s official YouTube Channel today, August 27th, at 8 PM. This album, produced by KAITA (Dr. SWAG/RHT.), a globally active artist who has established his own energetic “HATABOY STYLE” centered around hip-hop and has worked with King & Prince, BE:FIRST, (G)I-DLE, and others, is an energetic piece that, coupled with the music, is sure to be a hit, so please look forward to today’s release. In addition, to coincide with the release of UN1CON’s first EP, “GENKI,” the LINE MUSIC Play Challenge has begun. To commemorate the release of UN1CON’s first EP, “GENKI,” those who apply on LINE MUSIC during the campaign period will receive a chance to win luxurious prizes based on the number of plays. The application period is from August 27th to September 30th, 2025, until 11:59 PM. Among those who have played the song more than 500 times, 10 people will be randomly selected to receive a “personalized message video,” and everyone who has played the song more than 100 times will receive an original image with a handwritten message. We encourage you to listen to the song as much as you can and apply. A special release event will also be held on September 27th from 3:00 PM. The event will include a mini-live performance, a talk session, and a TikTok photoshoot. To participate in the event, applicants who apply during the application period will be entered into a drawing using the “Mini-Live & TikTok Photoshoot Participation Lottery Ticket” included with the first EP, “GENKI.” The application period is from August 26th, 2025, to September 15th, 2025, at 11:59 PM. The event will take place at a location in Tokyo (notification will be given only to winners), so apply early once you receive your prize. Furthermore, to celebrate the release of the EP, free live shows are being held at eight locations around Tokyo, starting at 7pm on August 23rd at the Tower Records Shibuya store’s 5th floor event space.
