Deluxe edition Blu-ray development diagram The film adaptation of “Paripi Koumei,” starring Mukai Osamu, which aired on Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10pm drama slot in the fall of 2023, titled “Paripi Koumei THE MOVIE,” was released in theaters nationwide in April 2025 and became a smash hit! The Blu-ray and DVD release of this work has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025. This work is based on the hugely popular comic currently being serialized in “Young Magazine” (Kodansha), which has sold over 2.6 million copies. It tells the story of Zhuge Liang (played by Mukai Osamu), a genius military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period, who is somehow reincarnated in his younger self in modern-day Shibuya. He becomes the strategist for Tsukimi Eiko (played by Kamishiraishi Moka), an amateur singer aspiring to become a singer, and leads her to success by using clever tactics to break down every obstacle that stands in her way. The film stars Osamu Mukai, Moka Kamishiraishi, Mirai Moriyama as Kobayashi, the owner of BB Lounge who is a Three Kingdoms lover, and Dean Fujioka as Liu Bei, Kongming’s master. Also joining the cast are Fuju Kamio as Sima Jun, a descendant of Sima Yi, Kongming’s arch enemy from the Three Kingdoms period, and Utaha (Wednesday Campanella) as his sister, singer Shin. They stand in Kongming and Eiko’s way. The story takes place at the biggest music battle festival in history, where Japan’s three biggest music labels compete for the top spot. The film’s highlight is the powerful, authentic live performance scenes, featuring a total of over 50 musicians and dancers and an audience of over 6,000 people, filled with immersive and uplifting excitement.
