<<Publication Objective and Content Introduction>> “Fractal” is a concept used in mathematics and natural sciences, referring to the characteristic of “a whole and its parts having a similar structure.” A characteristic of fractals is that “the structure of the whole is already contained within small units.” Could this property be applied to the design of the economy and society? This was the starting point for “fractal economy.” In the fractal economy, the unit of economic activity is viewed not as a huge box like a “company” or a “nation,” but as a small unit called a “cell.” A cell is an autonomous, small-scale community that serves as the basic unit of economic activity. It is a temporary, self-contained “community” that combines “someone’s intention to accomplish something (purpose), cooperation among people who share that intention (organization), and shared outcomes and rewards (distribution).” Importantly, this “cell” unit can itself be contained within another cell. This is similar to how a company is organized into teams, or how an NPO has volunteer teams for each activity. These “stackable cells” form the basic structure of this concept. This book will develop its discussion in the following order: First, it will provide an overview of the world’s history and clarify the nature of the changes currently underway. We will also summarize social and economic trends that are considered inevitable. Second, based on this background, we propose a new philosophy called postnational singularism. This philosophy aims to redesign future society from a human-scale perspective that transcends nation states. Third, we propose “AI democracy,” a new political system based on AI technology. This is not simply about electronic voting or automation; it is an attempt to evolve the political decision-making process itself through collaboration between AI and humans. Fourth, in terms of economic structure, we present a new model called the “fractal economy.” This aims to realize a decentralized, self-organizing economic network that is independent of nations and corporations. Finally, rather than discussing these concepts in isolation, we will discuss system design that integrates “AI democracy” and the “fractal economy.” This will help us envision a sustainable future that starts from the very core of society. He lives in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. He’s an ordinary office worker at a small foreign-owned company. He works in factory infrastructure, but he’s also a nomadic engineer who wanders through IT technology in general. He encountered Windows 95 and then Windows 98 as a child and vowed to make computers his lifelong friend. One day in February 2025, while bedridden with a high fever, I had a lot of free time and decided to talk to ChatGPT about the unique worldview that had been brewing in my head. Within just three days, I had a clear outline of this book, and I was able to get started writing. <<Sales store>> E-books: Amazon Kindle Store, Rakuten Kobo eBook Store, Apple Books, Kinokuniya Kinoppy, Google Play Store, honto eBook Store, Sony Reader Store, BookLive!, BOOK☆WALKER Printed books: Amazon.co.jp *Sales in each store will begin as soon as they are ready. *You can also order from general bookstores nationwide.
