Based on the original story of the film “Dive in Wonderland” Nationwide release: Friday, August 29, 2025 Director: Toshiya Shinohara, Animation Production: P.A.WORKS [The fun of wordplay from the original is preserved! Undoubtedly the greatest existing translation of Alice! And it’s a new translation!! ●Here’s the key point (1) First and foremost, it’s a new translation!! You can read Alice in beautiful, contemporary Japanese. It’s not at all difficult to understand or read! And it’s not broken Japanese. Enjoy Alice’s elegant and adorable lines. (2) The Fun of Alice is Her Rhyme Before this work was published, it was said in Japan that “you can’t understand the appeal of Alice without reading the original text,” but Carroll was so keen to incorporate the appeal of the sound of English (rhyme) into the poems in the work. For this reason, this work was translated with particular emphasis on the rhyme of the poems. This is a unique endeavor. The rat is telling the dog, “That’s too confusing, A trial without a jury or judge is ‘nothing good.'” “I’ll play both roles.” The sly Fury is out. “If I were to be sentenced to death like you, your life would be lost.” ※The characters [ ] and [ ] are used to create a rhyme. (3) Includes detailed commentary and sheet music for the poem! In the translator’s afterword, you can read about how the story came about, as well as detailed explanations and
behind-the-scenes stories about the work. – What was Carroll’s intention in introducing the White Rabbit into the story? – Who do the three sisters in the story of the Dormouse represent? – Who is Professor Bijitsu from “School at the Sea”? Alice fans will definitely be grinning! As a bonus, sheet music for each poem is included. Sing along to the sheet music for “Let’s yell at each other, little boy” (Pepper’s Lullaby)! (4) Packed with Tenniel illustrations! This book contains many of Tenniel’s illustrations. You can have fun just flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures. ●Synopsis One afternoon, as Alice was dozing off in a field, a strange white rabbit carrying a pocket watch came running up to her. She chased the rabbit and fell into a deep hole that seemed to go right through the earth, and found herself in Wonderland! A land of dreams and fantasy filled with quirky characters, including the Cheshire Cat, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts. This definitive new translation of this humorous masterpiece of world children’s literature preserves the delightful wordplay of the original! 《129 fun pictures!
