Press Release: August 29, 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo commemorative edition of the local WAON “Osaka Museum WAON” now on sale Starting Monday, September 1st, AEON Retail will begin selling the Osaka-Kansai Expo commemorative edition of the local WAON “Osaka Museum WAON” (hereinafter referred to as “WAON”) at 89 AEON and AEON Style stores in two prefectures and four cities in the Kansai region. AEON issues the local WAON card “Osaka Museum WAON,” which aims to support the “Osaka Museum” initiative promoted by Osaka Prefecture to promote the city’s appeal both domestically and internationally. WAON designed the “Water and Light Water Show” in the Hachikenyahama area (on the right bank of the Okawa River) as part of the “OSAKA River Fantasy,” a water and light-based event being held in Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City to commemorate the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
