Discover “overlooked value” at the “Meiji Yasuda PRESENTS NOT NEW MARKET”! As a special event for MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2025, the event will be held on September 27th and 28th in front of the former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Guest House in Tenjin Central Park. Live music, workshops, and talk sessions will also be held.

He collects VHS tapes, a video medium that is becoming increasingly rare, from all over the world and uses them to create music and video works. In addition to performing live using VHS footage and the melodica, he also works as a video director, directing music videos and VJs for numerous musicians. In recent years, he has been creating works while conducting fieldwork in various locations across Japan, and performing under the name “Kotei,” a project using only private home videos stored in people’s homes. Since his second album, “Nights of the World,” in 2015, he has released numerous recordings through Kakubarizm. He has also released numerous other works on domestic and international labels. Formed by Sato Shogo and Evaryu, who also perform under the solo name “ORANCHA,” they are attracting attention for their unique worldview, which combines Southeast Asian pop music, nostalgic Japanese melodies, and a psychedelic, floating feeling. Her debut song, “Mai Pen Rai,” immediately captured the attention of music fans both in Japan and overseas, with the 7-inch record selling out immediately after its release. In 2024, she released her first album, “Qantikala.” The LP became a global hit and sold out. She also released “Day by Day,” a collaboration with Malaysian singer Zee Avi, and performed at the large-scale festival “WAK Festival” held in Borneo that same year. She also performed at “SUKIYAKI MEETS THE WORLD,” which brings together music lovers from around the world, and the large-scale festival “ZANDARI FESTA” in Korea.
