Morris is a very charming boy with a rich sensibility who can get excited about many things. One day, Morris finds an absolutely beautiful dress. This book meticulously depicts the moment Morris becomes captivated by the dress. “The same color as my beloved tiger, the sun, and Mama’s hair.” It was so beautiful that I tried it on and heard some fun sounds. “Swish swish, rustle, rustle, tap-tap-tap.” This book is filled with the vibrant colors and sounds that only Morris can collect, and will ignite a warm, thrilling feeling in your heart. ◆ A work born from an actual educational setting, delicately expressing the emotions of children

Some of the comments hurt him. His anxiety grows because he has different “likes” than everyone else. How will Morris overcome these challenges…? This story was inspired by real-life educational experiences. Author Christine Baldacino wrote it after she was an elementary school teacher and saw a boy being scolded by his mother for wearing a dress. Isabel Marenfant’s illustrations, carefully portraying Morris’s fragility and emotional ups and downs, have been well-received, and the work has been nominated for numerous awards. Maezawa Akie’s translation vividly captures the worldview and emotions that the authors have created for Morris. This heartwarming book was written with sincerity by authors who have sincerely looked into the hearts of children. ◆ Profile Written by Christine Baldacino A Canadian designer, Baldacino won the Stonewall Prize for this book, which recognizes outstanding literary work dealing with LGBT issues.
