This single is available on over 55 platforms in 185 countries worldwide, including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and LINE MUSIC. Production of “Dandan” began after an offer to perform at the “YOKAI MUSIC FES 2025” held in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture in July. Marie Ueda wrote the lyrics herself, drawing on memories and scenery from Tottori, where she spent her first 18 years, to create a song that expresses her deep feelings for her hometown. The song was composed, arranged, and guitar-played by singer-songwriter Yosuke Ishida, who has worked on numerous local songs and theme songs. The melody, which slowly seeps into your heart, resonates across generations. The title “Dandan” has a double meaning: the adverb “little by little” or “slowly” and the San’in dialect “dandan” meaning “thank you.” Ueda says, “As I get older, my memories fade, but with each passing year, I feel my love for my hometown deepen. I hope everyone who has a hometown in their heart will listen to this.” The jacket photo was also photographed and designed by Ueda himself. Time passes, and my memories fade, but my love for my hometown grows stronger. With each passing year, I feel more and more grateful for having a hometown, and now, thanks to a wonderful connection I’ve received from my hometown, I’ve been able to produce “Dandan.” In the Tottori and Shimane dialects, “Dandan” means “thank you,” so the song is filled with gratitude for my hometown. This is a song I want to share not only with everyone in Tottori and San’in, but also with everyone who has a hometown. I hope you’ll listen to it while thinking of your hometown.
