Volvo Trucks China Carrion Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuki Omoto) has announced the acquisition of Aoki Clothing Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Aoki), a jeans sewing factory in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, with a history of over 60 years. In collaboration with Volvo Motors, they have created a special edition Volvo truck called “BLUE BLOOD” that combines the technology and spirit of both companies. Concept/Idea Trucks transport goods over land. In the process of transporting goods, they courageously navigate a variety of roads, not just well-maintained ones, but also bumpy and gravel roads. They charge forward (toward the future) regardless of minor scratches and pain. Inspired by such scenery, this concept truck was created with the image of a design that sublimates the “scars” that lie on the other side of “elegance” and “strength” into “courage.” What we wanted to express by combining the Volvo Trucks brand image with denim “DENIM” is characterized by the word “fade.” The spirit of VOLVO TRUCK, infused with the color blue, is combined with the indigo veins of denim to create “BLUE BLOOD.” By carrying the thoughts of many people, it delivers even more charm. As time passes, the scars fade
beautifully, becoming even more attractive and conveying the value of “thoughts” to people. This theme also represents the “identity of both denim and trucks.” Attention to detail The exterior is crafted from black denim with distressed embroidery, creating a powerful effect like jet-black rock, with indigo “bloodlines” sewn into it,
symbolizing a fusion of dynamism and serenity. The distressed black denim also expresses the dynamism of “cutting through the wind,” and the contrast between the indigo-dyed plasma leather (blue pigskin material) and the distressed black denim creates an exterior design that combines strength and luxury with the rich texture unique to denim.
