It is said that child suicides increase in April and September, when the new school term begins. As the Tokyo Human Rights Plaza is a facility used by children and students, in 2018, with the cooperation of the nonprofit organization Gentle Heart Project, we have been working to resolve this situation by hosting an exhibition of messages from children who have died as a result of physical and mental injuries caused by bullying and other causes. This year, we will once again hold a message exhibition to coincide with the end of summer vacation and the start of the new school term, providing an
opportunity to reflect on the lives of children who have been taken and to think about what each individual can do to protect children’s lives.

Along with an explanation of the
“Children’s Message Panels” that will be displayed at the venue, we will consider what can be done to resolve the issue of bullying.
