It has been decided that the “ROPPONGI Sketch League,” a team competition of Yoshimoto comedians’ sketches, will be held at the YOSHIMOTO ROPPONGI THEATER for approximately nine months starting in December 2025. This league will be a round-robin tournament between a total of six teams. The outcome will be decided entirely by audience vote. This serious competition tests the teams’ pure comedy skills and team cohesion, and the team that emerges victorious will receive a prize of 300,000 yen. This tournament is the second installment following the “Makuhari Conte League,” which concluded in April of this year with great success. A total of six teams will be entered, each led by a captain: Nanamagari, GAG, Nelsons, Nippon no Shachou, Ginga Yume Yume, and Kawaretei. Each captain will draft six comedy duos from the east and west, forming a team of seven, including themselves. The draft meeting will be livestreamed on Yoshimoto Kogyo’s official YouTube channel from 10:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10th. Be sure to tune in to see the comedy duos’ tactics, something you don’t usually see at live shows. The venue for this league, “YOSHIMOTO ROPPONGI THEATER,” opened in July 2025 and is Yoshimoto Kogyo’s new home specializing in comedy sketches. Designed to fully immerse you in the immersive atmosphere and sense of unity of the comedy sketches, you can enjoy comedians taking on new challenges in an unprecedented environment.
