To help build the next 100 years of jazz history in Yokohama, we’ve planned an international exchange event through music. We’ll be inviting trending bands from Yokohama’s partner cities of Frankfurt and Taipei. With the cooperation of Jazz Initiative Frankfurt (JIF), which shares the same aspirations as jazz professionals, we’ve decided to bring the Anke Helfrich Trio from Frankfurt to Japan for Jazz Professional. Pianist Anke Helfrich is one of Germany’s leading jazz musicians, having been nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award and the German Jazz Award’s “Album of the Year” category for her 2023 album “We’ll Rise.” Bassist Dietmar Fuhr and drummer Jens Duppe are also highly popular performers on the German jazz scene. In the Jazz Pro section, you’ll enjoy a full performance, primarily of the trio’s original compositions! We’ve received a message from Anke Helfrich!
