Black Star Label NPO Press Release: September 12, 2025 “Interactive Screenings x Independent Films” Challenges Divisions – Black Star Label Holds First Activity Report Meeting to Commemorate 2nd Anniversary Black Star Label, a nonprofit organization (Representative Director: Tamura Yoshihiro / Location: Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture), will be holding its first “Activity Report Meeting” this September, two years after its establishment. Black Star Label is a film label based on the concept of “Art with Neighbors,” which challenges indifference to difficult social issues. We aim to create a society where people can take an interest in issues and take proactive action to resolve them through art and entertainment, expanding the scope of dialogue that transcends divisions.

This September, two years after our founding, we will be holding our first “Activity Report Meeting.” At the activity report meeting, we will talk about three projects that Black Star Label is working on: film production, interactive screenings, and community building. We will also feature the independently produced film “Dance with the Issue: Our Dialogue with Electricity,” which has received a tremendous response. “Dance with the Issue” is an experimental film that combines real voices from the energy industry with contemporary dance. While these works functioned as marketing and a portfolio through award wins and media exposure, they lacked commercial viability, making it difficult to sustain sustained activities related to these themes, and ultimately failed to address the underlying issues. However, not all of the complex problems we must solve can be solved through rational business activities. We have decided to produce multifaceted video works with your support as an NPO that contributes to the public. Two years after our founding, we continue to seriously explore every day what kind of entity Black Star Label is and how it can deliver value to society.
