He joined Chunichi Shimbun in 2006. He has worked as a reporter at branch offices and communications bureaus in Aichi and Nagano, as well as at the Nagoya and Hokuriku headquarters. He was assigned to the Mie General Bureau in August 2012. After working as a free agent and covering Suzuka, he has been in charge of prefectural government since March 2013. His maternal grandfather was from Iga City (formerly Oyamada Village), and he visited the prefecture many times as a child with his grandfather, so he has a strong attachment to Mie!
