Makita Sports, a comedian and actor, is collaborating with his hometown of Yamanashi City to celebrate the city’s 20th anniversary with an event called “Makita Sports’ NEO Mujin – Yamanashi City 20th Anniversary Special” on Sunday, October 19th. Additional guests were announced today. Actor Masahiro Higashide appeared in the talk corner of the afternoon session. Higashide commented, “It seems that Yamanashi Prefecture’s population is declining every year. However, we have delicious water, clear air, vast skies, and the peaceful warmth of our people. I hope to speak cheerfully about the charms of this land rich in nature and the joys of life ahead.” In response, Makita passionately explained his reason for booking Higashide, saying, “Higashide-kun has a somewhat controversial side, but I’m very interested in ‘Masahiro Higashide the person.’ I hope to find some clues to help liven up Yamanashi City by asking him all about his current situation as an actor, a father, and a resident. Also, simply ‘Live’ Higashide is cool! You want to see it!” Regarding Sunplaza Nakano-kun and Pappara Kawai, who are scheduled to perform in the evening session, Makita commented, “Nakano-kun is originally from Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and has always had a desire to promote Yamanashi. He also said, “I heard he’s distantly related to me (Makita Sports). So, there’s no reason not to have him perform. I’m looking forward to seeing Nakano-kun and Kawai perform Bakufu Slump’s classic songs and really liven up the event!” NEO Mujin was conceived by Makita and is based on the concept of updating the “mujin” (※1) custom that remains in the prefecture. This marks the third time the event has been held, with the aim of cultivating wisdom and culture and promoting entertainment unique to Yamanashi Prefecture.
