The latest information on the anime adaptation of the popular novel and comic “Ayakashi x Japanese Cinderella Story” has been announced one after another. Starts Publishing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shuichi Kikuchi) has announced that “The Demon Bride,” a series with a total circulation of over 5.8 million copies, will be adapted into a TV anime series in 2026. Additionally, at Aniplex’s online event “Aniplex Online Fest 2025” on Saturday, September 13th, the latest information was released, including a teaser trailer, the first studio-drawn visuals, the main staff, and the main cast members playing Yuzu and Reiya. This work won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Comic Seymour Everyone’s Choice!! Digital Comic Awards, ranking first for four consecutive months in both the novel and manga categories. When she meets Kiryuin Reiya, the demon at the top of the ayakashi hierarchy, and is chosen as his bride, the story begins to take a big turn. This is a Japanese-style ayakashi Cinderella story that begins with a fateful encounter. The cast members who will be playing the characters in the anime include Saori Hayami as Shinonome Yuzuko, an ordinary girl who lives a life unloved by her family, and Yuichiro Umehara as Kiryuin Reiya, the next head of the demon clan, the most powerful ayakashi clan. The teaser trailer shows Yuzuko being treated coldly at home and Reiya’s encounter with Yuzuko, who sees her as a potential bride, and also features Cato’s voice. Additionally, the first anime visuals featuring Yuzu and Reiya, newly drawn by Colored Pencil Animation Japan, the animation production team, have been released. Other information, including the main staff and cast, broadcast schedule, and more, has been released one after another.
