September 14 – Tokyo—Bvlgari, Rome’s leading high jeweler, is celebrating its unparalleled beauty of color with the exhibition “Bvlgari Kaleidos: Color, Culture, Craft,” which will run from Wednesday, September 17, 2025, to Monday, December 15, 2025, at the National Art Center, Tokyo. This exhibition, the first Bulgari exhibition in Japan in 10 years and the largest to date, brings together jewelry, art and craftsmanship under the theme of “color,” luring visitors into a vibrant world that changes like a kaleidoscope. The excitement of the exhibition will lead to a new experience at the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo. The world of “Bvlgari Kaleidos: Colour, Culture and Craft” unfolds in a unique way in the setting of a hotel. Starting with an art experience in the elevator from the first floor to the lobby, then moving on to the Heritage Collection, which vividly depicts history, and tasting limited edition chocolates at Bvlgari Dolci. Mr. Nakayama looks up at the Spaceship in one of the elevator videos at the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo. Immersive Elevators This exhibition features leading contemporary artists Lara Favaretto, Mariko Mori, and Akiko Nakayama, who share Bvlgari’s vision of color as a source of transformation and perception. Each artist combines the brilliance of jewelry with the expression of contemporary art through their unique new works, proposing new possibilities for color. The Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo will be showcasing a special video installation by Akiko Nakayama in the hotel’s elevators. Nakayama is an artist who, using a unique technique called “Alive Painting,” creates ever-changing, fluid forms by incorporating water, mineral pigments, and sound vibrations. Her artwork, “Echo,” to be unveiled at the National Art Center, Tokyo, echoes the dazzling Convertible Sautoir Bracelet (circa 1969) from the Bvlgari Heritage Collection, projecting the ephemeral yet powerful beauty of color into the space. Her artistic vision will also be uniquely reflected in the hotel’s elevators.
