About Eirakuya Eirakuya is a long-established cotton cloth merchant in Kyoto, founded in the early Edo period (1615). Later, in 1615, the company switched from producing silk kimonos to producing heavy fabrics (cotton and linen kimonos). Today, we are Japan’s oldest cotton cloth merchant, selling hand towels, furoshiki, and other items, and have been in business for over 400 years in Kyoto, with 14 generations of business.
