Since then, in
consideration of the ever-changing environmental issues of the region, it has switched fuel sources to coal, naphtha, and LNG, actively incorporating the latest technologies of the time, and has supplied electricity to the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Keihin Industrial Complex. Today, it operates as a state-of-the-art LNG-fired power plant boasting the world’s highest level of performance. Considering environmental conservation, including CO2 reduction, the plant supplies some of the steam used in its steam turbines to nearby factories. It has implemented thorough measures in all aspects of the environment, safety, and disaster prevention, striving to provide a stable supply of electricity as an environmentally friendly thermal power plant.
