The Mainichi Shimbun (President and CEO: Matsuki Ken) is launching a new service called “oshi-noru” for fans of idols, artists, talents, VTubers, manga and anime characters, athletes, and more. Official website =https://www.mainichi.co.jp/oshi-noru Have you ever wondered, “My favorite idol isn’t getting much media coverage,” or “I want to get together with other fans and start a conversation about my favorite idol, but I’m not sure how to go about it?” With oshi-noru, you can spread the appeal of your favorite idol nationwide by using a full-page ad in the morning newspaper. The culture of “birthday ads” (“Sen’il ads”) and “support ads” is gaining ground, with fans using advertising space on train station billboards, outdoor signage, and other platforms to display ads in celebration of their favorite idols. The Mainichi Shimbun is launching this service to allow such fans to take advantage of newspaper advertising space.
