“Sumida River: All Things, Dreams in Ink” Executive Committee Press Release: September 19, 2025 ~In
preparation for the Sumida Art Festival to be held in the fall of 2026~ The two-day “Sumiyume Dance Procession” will feature a music concert and live Bon Odori dance. Now in its 10th year, the art project “Sumida River: All Things in the Universe, Dreams in Ink” (commonly known as Sumiyume) will be holding the “Sumiyume Dance Procession” over two days at the Breeze Square in Sumida Park. Inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s “Dance Procession,” which depicts a line of joyful dancers, the “Sumiyume Dance Procession: SUMIBON” features a stage set up in the center of Breeze Square and a live Bon Odori dance performance. This annual autumn event will be held this year on Saturday, October 25th. Featuring a diverse lineup of singers and musicians, along with local dancers and performing arts groups, the program is designed for people of all ages, genders, and even solo visitors, and features a fun and engaging program. Enjoy familiar ondo songs and folk songs from across Japan, and expand your circle of dancers. On Friday, October 24th, the turret will be used as a stage for a music concert titled “To You Who Will Live in the Future.” At a place that commemorates the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Tokyo Air Raids, musicians such as Miu Sakamoto, Keiichi Sogabe, Ann Sally, and Ren Takada, along with music-loving local children, will perform songs that will be sung forever. For two days, music and song will resonate in the autumn sky, and people will dance together, with thoughts of repose and rebirth. We hope you will take up this issue. Date and Time: Friday, October 24th, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Music Concert “To You Who Will Live in the Future” Saturday, October 25th 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM Bon Odori Dance with Live Music “SUMIBON” Venue: Sumida Park Breeze Square (1-3 Mukojima, Sumida-ku) *In case of rain, the event will be held at Sumida Riverside Hall Event Hall (next to Sumida Ward Office).
