The “Those Wonderful Songs Again Concert” was launched in 2018 with the concept of “artists enjoying timeless classics and hits together with the audience.” The Osaka performance will be the third time the concert has been held. The title of this concert, “Those Wonderful Songs Again Concert,” comes from the song “Those Wonderful Loves Again,” written by Osamu Kitayama and composed by Kazuhiko Kato. The Folk Crusaders (commonly known as Folkle), formed in 1965 by Osamu Kitayama and Kazuhiko Kato, who produced this song, were active in the Kansai underground scene. In 1967, to commemorate the disbandment of Folkle, they produced the self-produced album “Harenchi.” This album included songs that would later become big hits, such as “Kaettekita Yopparai” (He’s Returned), and “Imjin-gawa” (Imjin River), a song they had been singing since their amateur days. There was. The songs on “Harenchi” gradually gained attention on Kansai radio, with “Imjin River” gaining particular popularity in Kyoto and “Yopparai Has Returned” gaining popularity in Kobe. Performers include Kitayama Osamu, lyricist of “Ano Subarashii Ai wo Mouichido,” Ogura Kei, who has written many hits such as “Ai San San” and “Sikramen no Kaori,” Kumiko, who sings a wide range of songs including chanson, and Kumiko, who had a hit with the Jiros with “Senso wo Shiranai Kodomotachi” (Children Who Don’t Know War) (lyrics by Kitayama Osamu) and has also performed solo with songs such as “ANAK (Son).” The lineup includes Jiro Sugita, creator of many famous songs; Toi et Moi, the folk duo consisting of Emiko Shiratori and Sumio Akutagawa, known for hits like “One Day Suddenly” and “The Sea Without Anyone”; Baby Boo, a five-member chorus group from the Kansai region that is active across Japan as the successor to the Bonnie Jacks; BORO, known for “A Woman Born in Osaka” and “The Negresco Hotel”; and freelance announcer Junichi Kado.
