In 1995, he released his first solo album, “DOVE LOVES DUB,” and around this time, he began his full-fledged career as a DJ. In 1997, he began actively performing overseas, primarily in Europe. In 1998, he played in front of 1.5 million people at the Final Gathering of the world’s largest techno festival, “Love Parade,” held in Berlin. From 1999 to 2013, he hosted “WIRE,” Japan’s largest indoor rave, attracting over 10,000 people, and actively introduced international DJs and artists to Japan. In July 2012, he released the two-disc set “WIRE TRAX 1999-2012.” Disc 1 features tracks he contributed to WIRE COMPILATION from 1999 to 2011, while Disc 2 compiles unreleased material. In December 2015, he was the only Japanese artist to remix “Tutti Frutti,” a single from New Order’s new album, “Music Complete.” In August 2016, he released his first solo album in six years, “LUNATIQUE,” followed by the remix album “EUQITANUL” in December. On December 27, 2017, he released his first solo album in one year and four months, “ACID TEKNO DISKO BEATz,” and on January 24, 2018, he released “Takkyu Ishino Works 1983-2017,” an eight-disc collection of his solo work to date. Currently, he is active in a variety of fields as a DJ/producer and remixer.

In 1996, the video clip for their single “Extra” (directed by Koji Morimoto, animation director of the film “AKIRA”) won the UK’s MTV Dance Video of the Year award. In 1998, they created the international version of the theme song for the Nagano Olympics, which aired worldwide. In 2000, he appeared on the cover of the American weekly news magazine “Newsweek,” and in 2004, he won the Best Techno DJ award at the “DJ Awards” held in Ibiza, Spain, cementing his place as the world’s best DJ in both name and reality. In 2005, he provided the music for the Seto Japan Pavilion at the government-sponsored “Aichi Expo.” In 2017, he performed at the world’s biggest festival, “Tomorrowland.” In 2019, he released his first album in 13 years, “Mobius Strip.” The music videos for the album’s lead track, “BELLS OF NEW LIFE,” and “JOIN THE PAC,” the global theme song for PAC-MAN’s 40th anniversary, were produced by video director Yuichi Kodama, who also worked on the video promoting Tokyo as the next host city at the Rio Olympics closing ceremony. The videos garnered attention for their excellence and entertainment value. In addition to releasing music and performing at events, he is also taking on various projects in 2025. Two years ago, he produced the full soundtrack for the Netflix military sci-fi blockbuster anime “Yakitori,” and performed “TECHNOH LAB.”, a new dance performance fusing techno with the traditional Japanese art of Noh (co-starring with Noh actor Manjiro Tatsumi of the Hosho school of Noh). Known as the “Techno God of the East,” he has made a name for himself worldwide as an artist, DJ, producer, and remixer.
