■Art Rhizome KYOTO 2025 “Reverse Journey to Kyoto 2” Overview Kyoto City and Art Rhizome The KYOTO Executive Committee is connecting 10 venues in Kyoto City that tell the story of Kyoto, a city of culture and history, and is hosting an exhibition of works by 12 artists with ties to Kyoto from Saturday, September 13, 2025, to Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The “Gekiryo Kyoto” project, held for the second time following last year, will once again connect various venues that tell the story of Kyoto, a city of culture and history, including accommodations, commercial facilities, and public spaces, for exhibitions and sales. “Reverse Travel” is a word meaning lodging, and “Reverse Travel Kyoto” imagines the whole of Kyoto as a kind of “lodging” that has welcomed a variety of people, things, and events. This year, Penwadee Nophaket Manont, chief curator of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, will be participating as a special writer. She will write a text in the form of a travelogue describing all the venues and works, and will combine the city of Kyoto and the works of young artists into a single exhibition. Graduated with a Master’s degree in Oil Painting from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Kyoto City University of Arts. He travels between digital and physical spaces to express the world seen between them.
