Kyojima, Sumida Ward, where Denkiyu is located, is home to row houses that survived the war and still remain, fostering a unique lifestyle and culture that fosters close
relationships with neighbors. However, these landscapes and the warm relationships between the people are quietly disappearing due to rapid redevelopment in recent years, and without being recorded, they are in danger of being lost to the local memory. This project aims to preserve for future generations the memories of Kyojima’s lifestyle, which is being lost. (This exhibition has been selected for the 2025 “Sumida River: All Things, Dreams in Ink” project.) ■Exhibition contents
