Yuhikaku Publishing Co., Ltd. (founded in 1877, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Egusae Sadaharu), publisher of the “Roppo Zensho” and other works, will be holding a lecture at Vision Center Shinbashi to commemorate the publication of all seven volumes of the Studia Civil Law Series. The Studia Civil Law Series has been widely praised by students, university faculty, and practitioners as a new must-read for civil law studies. On the day of the event, the professors who supervised and wrote this hugely popular series will come together to give a lecture on “New Possibilities for Legal Textbooks and How to Study Them.” Studia Civil Law has taken on the challenge of “putting even obvious assumptions into words” about civil law, which underpins our society. In this lecture, we will look back on this with actual examples and consider the role of textbooks, how to study them, and the future of civil law education. Please note that this lecture will not be streamed online and will only be held on the day of the event. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to deepen their learning through this series, as well as students who are just starting to study civil law and anyone interested in legal education. ■Event overview Date and Time: Saturday, October 25, 2025, Start Time: 1:45 PM (Doors Open: 1:15 PM), End Time: 4:15 PM Venue: Vision Center Shinbashi (Venue: 18th floor) Capacity: 200 people Admission fee (unreserved seating, prices include tax): 2,000 yen ◆To purchase tickets, please visit Click here (Jumps to the Peatix website) Sale period: Until October 25th, 12:00 PM *There are no plans for online distribution. ■Program (title omitted) [Part 1] Keynote Speech by Professor Keizo Yamamoto (Waseda University): “The Past and Future of Civil Law Education” [Part 2] Dialogue and roundtable discussion between authors of each volume Overall moderators: Ko Sakaguchi (Professor, Osaka Municipal University) and Shuhei Yamamoto (Associate Professor, Hokkaido University) (Session 1) Kazuma Yamashiro (Professor, Waseda University) x Hiroki Hatano (Professor, Kobe University) (Session 2) Taro Mizutsu (Professor, University of Tokyo) x Haruna Fujisawa (Professor, Rikkyo University) (Session 3) Nobue Shimomura (Professor, Kindai University) × Aya Osawa (Professor, Hosei University) × Taro Nakahara (Professor, University of Tokyo)
