About Friday Road Show and the Ghibli Exhibition [Shizuoka Exhibition] This exhibition will explore the history of the Nippon Television film program “Friday Road Show” and introduce the appeal of Studio Ghibli films. “Friday Road Show,” which began in 1985, first aired “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” (1984, directed by Hayao Miyazaki) the following year*, and has since aired Studio Ghibli films over 200 times. This history continues to this day, alongside the footsteps of Studio Ghibli establishing its popularity and solidifying its reputation. This exhibition explores the appeal of the films through memories and records of each era in which they were broadcast, and by unearthing social trends from the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras, it highlights the timelessness and universality of Studio Ghibli works. Guests can also enjoy the worldview of Studio Ghibli films in “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind: The World of the Ohmu,” a space that recreates the “Sea of Decay” that appears in “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” as well as photo spots that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the films. Don’t miss this immersive exhibition that takes you back in time with its overwhelming database! * “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” first aired in 1985 as a special program on Nippon Television. ▼Dates: Saturday, October 11, 2025 – Sunday, January 4, 2026 ▼Hall Hours: 10:00 – 17:30 (last admission at 16:30) *Open until 20:00 on night opening days (Last entry time is 19:00) ▼Night opening days: Every Saturday October 12th (Sunday), November 2nd (Sunday), 23rd (Sunday), January 2nd (Friday) – 4th (Sunday) ▼Closed: Every Monday (except for public holidays, substitute holidays, and December 29th), December 30th (Tuesday) – January 1st (Thursday) ▼Venue: Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art 53-2 Tanida, Suruga-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture 422-8002 ※Parking spaces are limited, so please use public transportation. ▼Host: Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art, Daiichi-TV ▼Co-sponsored by: Nippon Television ▼Special Sponsor: au (KDDI Corporation) ▼Sponsored by: TOPPAN Chloret ▼Exhibition cooperation: Atelier Giura, A Factory ▼Special cooperation: Studio Ghibli ▼Shizuoka Exhibition Sponsor: Shin-Shizuoka Cenova ▼Inquiries: Daiichi-TV Business Division, TEL: 054-283-8115 (Weekdays 10:00-17:00) Shizuoka
