Fusosha Publishing Co., Ltd. Press Release: September 27, 2025 A popular shoe fitter who has treated over 20,000 feet and whose appointments are always booked shares three golden rules for choosing shoes: Tips for choosing wisely by combining “purpose x size x insole” “How to Choose the Right Shoes, Taught by a Shoe Fitter Whose Reservations Are Always Hard to Get Booked” will be released by Fusosha on November 1st. Popular shoe fitter Yasuaki Sato, who has examined the feet of over 20,000 people and whose appointments are so busy that they’re impossible to get a hold of, draws on his experience designing, repairing, and fitting shoes to thoroughly examine why shoes hurt and why they don’t fit. The conclusion is── Choosing shoes is determined by multiplying purpose x size x insole. 1. Shoes have a purpose. 2. Size labels are “more or less irrelevant.” 3. Insoles only show their true value when replaced. Only by meeting these three rules can you find a pair of shoes that truly fit your feet. This book provides clear, easy-to-understand guidance on how to choose shoes wisely, something no one has ever taught you before.

enthusiastically researched the differences in shoes for various sports and brands. This experience would later lay the foundation for his career as a shoe fitter. After graduating from high school, he collected over 200 pairs of sneakers and tried them out while traveling and running, learning the fit firsthand. He then studied abroad in Northampton, England, the home of shoemaking, where he made over 60 pairs of shoes in a year. This experience helped him develop an eye for identifying where shoes tend to break and where blisters are likely to form. After returning to Japan, he further honed his skills in shoe design and repair, realizing that a shoe’s fit is directly linked to its durability. Now, as a shoe fitter, he has worked with over 20,000 feet and shoes, sharing his experiences through his blog and YouTube. As the author, I bring you this book in the hope that shoes will help everyone walk comfortably in their daily lives. I hope this book will be of some help to you when choosing shoes. After graduating from university, he moved to the UK to study shoe design at the Tresham Institute Footwear College in Northampton, England. After returning to Japan, he worked for a domestic shoe company, where he spent 10 years designing shoes and creating samples. At the age of 30, he moved to a major shoe repair chain, where he worked on the front lines of repairs.
