PIAZZA Unveils “Piazza-kun,” the Official Mascot Promoting Regional Co-creation A collaborative coloring book featuring “Nakano-san Loves Nakano” will be on display at Nakano Ward Office from October 4th to October 9th. PIAZZA Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and CEO: Kohei Yano, hereinafter referred to as PIAZZA) is pleased to announce the creation of “Piazza-kun,” the official PIAZZA mascot to promote community co-creation, in commemoration of its 10th anniversary in May 2025. Going forward, Piazza-kun will undertake various collaborations with local residents and contribute to the revitalization of local communities, fulfilling PIAZZA’s mission of “creating a city where people support each other.” In addition, as the first collaboration project for Piazza-kun, we have created a “Piazza Original Coloring Book” in collaboration with Nakano-san, the city promotional character for Nakano Ward, Tokyo. Coloring works by children in the ward will be exhibited on the first floor of Nakano Ward Office for six days from October 4th (Sat) to 9th (Thu).

■ Production background Our mission is to create towns where people can support each other by creating plazas (“piazzas” in Italian) where they can engage in the small acts of mutual help that arise in their daily lives. Ten years have passed since we launched the local community app “Piazza” in the Kachidoki/Toyosu area of ​​Tokyo in September 2015. To date, Piazza has been supported by people in 76 municipalities and over 110 areas across Japan as a “town square” that fosters casual community connections. We began creating PIAZZA’s first mascot to help people feel closer to this plaza, where everyone in the community can casually drop in and interact from time to time, supporting each other’s lives. To create the mascot, we conducted a user survey of the “PIAZZA” app. The mascot was born from ideas and feedback received, such as “We want the mascot to be relatable to people of all ages and backgrounds,” and “We want the mascot to be a presence that supports people’s lives.” ■ “Piazza-kun” profile

Development Plans Piazza-kun will appear in piazzas, public spaces where local people gather. The coloring books will also be distributed free of charge at the “Piazza Oyazurikai in Nakano,” to be held on the first floor of Nakano Ward Office from 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4th. On the day, the completed coloring books will be exhibited at the venue. There will also be an “Oyazurikai” event where people in the community will share outgrown children’s clothes and picture books, and a “Yorimichi Piazza” lunch event where visitors can casually socialize with each other.
