Fukuoka: ASO Pop Culture College Graduates’ Music Comic Label for SUPER EIGHT’s 20th Anniversary Project Now Available
Aso Juku Educational Foundation Press Release: October 1, 2025 Fukuoka: ASO Pop Culture College graduates are now releasing a music comic label celebrating SUPER EIGHT’s 20th anniversary. Fukuoka/General Vocational School/Aso Vocational School Group Fukuoka ASO Pop Culture Vocational School A music comic for the popular idol group “SUPER EIGHT,” created by a graduate of the manga department, celebrating their 20th anniversary, has been released by the J-POP x comic label [MUSIC COMIC LABELZ]. By visualizing beloved J-POP songs in digital comic form, fans can empathize more deeply with the songs’ stories and characters. As this is a manga celebrating the 20th anniversary, I felt a sense of tension as I worked on the manuscript, knowing it was something very special. During the production process, I learned how to manage my schedule. There were many changes, but I broke down the workload into smaller tasks and worked steadily, taking breaks when I could. The release of this work received the biggest response to X’s work to date, and I received feedback from acquaintances that the illustrations were beautiful. The hardest part was drawing the characters. Because the character designs were prepared, I had to draw them in a different atmosphere to the way I normally draw, which was a bit of a challenge. As this desire spread, it was decided that the students’ works would be distributed by MUSIC COMIC LABELZ, a new J-POP x comic label. Under the enthusiastic guidance of faculty from ASO Pop Culture College, the students independently learned and took on new challenges. This creative project, themed around the songs of popular artists, was a source of pressure for the graduates, but this production, which touched so many people, was a valuable experience that will pave the way for them to take a major step forward in the future. In our school’s manga department, students can participate in collaborative projects with companies like the ones introduced here and gain practical experience. Even after graduation, students can continue to receive information about corporate collaborations and planning competitions through our official LINE support service, “Manga Support,” expanding their opportunities for debut and success.
