“Neko no Yokocho @ Nagae CUBE” (1-3-24 Nagae, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture; operated by Onomichi 08 Co., Ltd.; produced by Onomichi 08 Co., Ltd.), a cultural hub for food, art, and film, is currently hosting the “Nekojujisha ‘A Little Tea Party’ Manga Original Art Exhibition.” On Saturday, October 18th, a fan event will be held, featuring an actual “little tea party” with the artist himself. ■ “Nekojujisha ‘A Little Tea Party’ Manga Super Original Art Exhibition” featuring over 500 original drawings Serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine from 1978 to 1987, “A Little Tea Party” is a legendary fairy tale that depicts the everyday life of a married cat couple named Purin and Mop with a warm and gentle touch. This exhibition, a spectacular “readable original art exhibition” that immerses you in the world of “A Little Tea Party,” features over 500 original artworks across the first and second halves of the
exhibition. This marks Nekojishisha’s first attempt to exhibit manuscripts other than the color originals, and since the first day of the exhibition, it has been attracting numerous visitors, from die-hard fans to those experiencing the work for the first time. The poetic story and the beauty of the intricate, detailed original artwork, seen up close, have an enduring appeal that continues to attract new fans, even decades after the series began. In addition, new original merchandise will be released for six consecutive weeks starting from October 3rd at this exhibition. The former dining hall has been gradually renovated into “gallery ca:temporary” (a gallery with eat-in options), the dormitory building with 33 rooms (each measuring 3 tatami mats) has been renovated into “33 Kotodo” (shop and studio), and the former classroom building has been renovated into “classroom” (event space). Currently, “gallery ca:temporary” is open daily. “33 Kotodo” and “classroom” are open only during events. Nagae CUBE also exhibits and sells cat-themed goods and art, and runs the Cat Alley Project, which holds cat-related workshops and events. Six cats live on the premises.
