I’m pleased to announce that on October 25th, in cooperation with Toyama Chiho Railway in Toyama City, we will be renting out the Toyama Chiho Railway to hold a trial session for Showania, a card game designed to bring out memories in the elderly.

Japan’s population is rapidly aging, and half a century has passed since the Showa era, when people in their 60s and older played a central role in society. Now, many elderly people feel isolated, with fewer opportunities to have others listen to them than they once did. Furthermore, looking at society as a whole, the enthusiasm and energy of the Showa era is less apparent, and connections between people are becoming weaker. In this context, we believe that what is needed in Japanese society today is to once again place people’s “voices” and “memories” at the center and create a place for interaction. “Showania” is a card game in which participants share their memories using object cards themed around items and events related to life in the Showa era. It was developed by Used Net Co., Ltd., of which I am the president, in collaboration with LODU Co., Ltd.
