Pre-orders are now open for the second installment of the Lisa Larson Zodiac Series, “Kokoro Shizuka’s Horse” – Also available in the Tonkachi Store exclusive color, “Blue.” When it comes to the zodiac, Lisa Larson is the first to come to mind. The horse is making its second appearance in the zodiac series, a beloved symbol of Japan. The two figures, white and blue, create a “perfect harmony.” The Blue Horse is also available exclusively at Tonkachi Store. Reservations are now being taken for delivery within the year. Tonkachi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yukari Katsuki) has released a new chapter in its zodiac series, “Kokoro Shizuka’s Horse,” by Lisa Larson, a leading Nordic ceramic artist. This piece, which is based on the theme of the 2026 zodiac sign, “horse,” expresses the “perfect harmony” created by the two figures, one white and one blue. The “blue” figure in particular features a new design accented with silver and will be released as a limited edition item. Lisa conceived and created the prototypes in Sweden, which were then mass-produced at a Hasami ware kiln in Nagasaki, with each piece being finished by hand by a skilled artisan. In addition to ornaments, the collection also includes accessories such as netsuke, small plates, and chopstick rests, and is beloved by many fans who eagerly await new releases every year. The series is based on a white porcelain design with blue and silver accents. The color scheme long beloved in Japanese ceramics is combined with Lisa’s unique, inventive form and soft expression to create a unique presence. Gothenburg, she joined Gustavsberg, the Swedish ceramics manufacturer, at the request of Stig Lindberg, art director of the company. She became a central designer supporting the company’s golden age. In 1952, she married painter Gunnar Larsson. In 1980, she became a freelancer and has since worked with numerous clients. In the 2000s, she began collaborating with Tonkachi Co., Ltd. (Japan), which sparked a global resurgence in her popularity. In 2022, she will be awarded a medal by the Swedish government for her many years of outstanding work in renovating and enriching Swedish arts and crafts.
