Uemama Confectionery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 3-64 Toyosaki, Tomigusuku City, Okinawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Koji Uemama) is collaborating with Sony Music Artists Inc. (Headquarters: 4-5 Rokubancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mariko Kimura) to host the “#SweetAndSour Youth Audition,” a project to discover the next generation of stars from Okinawa. Background of the event The audition will be held jointly with Sony Music Artists, which represents artists, actors, comedians, and other talents from a wide range of genres. The audition aims to discover actors and talents who will be active not only in Japan but around the world, with the aim of “opening up the future of Okinawa through Supaiman and sending encouragement to the next generation.” We’re looking for the next generation of teens to spread the charm of Okinawa throughout Japan and the world! Through Suppaiman, we will connect with the local community and spread the appeal of Okinawa to the rest of Japan and the world. This image model will play such an important role. Another important mission is to give back to the local community, such as contributing to the region and promoting culture. Applications are open to both men and women, and to anyone in any genre, including actors, singers, and dancers. Seize the opportunity to discover “undiscovered talent” from Okinawa and help them soar onto the stage of the future. Sony Music Artists fully supports talent development. Those selected as image models will receive full support from Sony Music Artists as they prepare for their debut. They will receive a comprehensive training program, including acting, singing, dancing, and media exposure, guiding them to become the next generation of stars with national and global potential. Sony Music Artists has a proven track record of producing and nurturing numerous Okinawan artists and actors active on Okinawa’s stage. This audition is an attempt by Supaiman to utilize that know-how and launch new talent into the world.
