The experience features a special card on which you can write your wishes, shaped like a “pentagon” (gokaku, meaning “success”). This is an evolution of the traditional rectangular card, proposing a new style of amulet making that allows you to infuse even stronger prayers into it.

We hand-weave amulet bags using thread blessed at the only shrine in Japan dedicated to the cotton god. Orinami has traditionally offered the experience of hand-weaving palm-sized amulets, popular with inbound tourists, Asakusa visitors, and school trip students. The newly introduced “pentagonal exam success card” allows participants to write their wishes on it and place it in a hand-woven amulet bag to create a one-of-a-kind amulet. This talisy gift can be cherished until exam day, embodied in your prayers for success or academic success. ■Development Background Exams are important milestones that bring together the thoughts of many people, not just the student, but also their family, friends, teachers, and more. At Orinami, we have been using rectangular wish cards for our charm experiences up until now, but by changing them to a pentagonal shape (gokaku = passing) for students taking exams, we hope to make the experience even more auspicious and enhance its value. This is a special experience in which you will weave your own “omamori bag” using the thread. The woven fabric will be made into an omamori bag. You can combine it with a patch bearing your wish and an omamori string of your choice based on your favorite color and wish to create a one-of-a-kind original omamori.
