Tokyo-based cinema-pop band, Karakoram Mountains, is embarking on their first Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka joint tour, “Karakoram Highway.” The final lineup for all three shows has been announced. With special and chaotic performers, the band will lead the audience into a one-day, surreal world. The final Tokyo performance will feature RAY, an “alternative idol group aiming for the far north,” and Amaiwana, who plays “dream punk” incorporating techno pop, new wave, dream pop, Shibuya-kei, and more. The Nagoya performance will feature Super Climbing Club and Trooper Salute, and the Osaka performance will feature Kinoho. and VANQULLWAR’S. Tickets are on general sale at all ticket agencies. Don’t miss the “Traveling Kinema Pop Show” coming to your town! ＜Comment from Vocalist/Guitarist Sotaro Ishida＞ The name “K2,” the most dangerous mountain in the Karakoram Range, is simply a survey number. Once surveying revealed the existence of K2, people built a road connecting the Karakoram mountains with the city. This is the “Karakoram Highway.” This is my second time performing with Trooper Salute. I feel like I’ve known their music since I was a child. That’s the kind of power they have. I’ll forget for now the promise I made to the Super Mountain Climbing Club when we first met to “perform a live concert on the mountain,” and meet them at lower altitudes this time. Koenji, a year and a half ago, we played a joint show with Kinoho. It was the night I fell in love with an idol for the first time. VANQULLWAR’S plays illusion music. We’re delighted to welcome winter with them in Osaka for the third year in a row. When Amaiwana takes the stage, the Showa era becomes cutting edge, and the live house’s black curtains are transformed into bright red velvet. If Amaiwana is putting on a show, then RAY is putting on a “phenomenon.” Behind these four people, singing and dancing with an alternative spirit, it’s as if you can see hundreds of their predecessors.
