semiconductor power devices to industry trends Date and Time: Tuesday, November 4, 2025, 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Participation Fee: ¥44,000 (tax included) *Materials included * ¥39,600 (tax included) for newsletter subscribers * Academic price: ¥26,400 (tax included) Lecturer: Hidekazu Yamamoto, Green Power Yamamoto Research Institute 〈Seminar Objective〉 Expectations are high for wide-gap semiconductors as next-generation power devices, and the performance of prototypes and small-scale mass-produced products has been excellent. However, compared to the most sophisticated Si power devices, full-scale mass production faces many challenges, including cost and reliability. SiC power devices are the most advanced in development, but Japanese manufacturers have made great strides while overseas manufacturers have had a weak presence. GaN-HEMTs enable high-speed devices that are impossible to achieve with Si or SiC and have already been put to practical use, but Japan has an even weaker presence in this field than SiC. Japan is the only country that holds the lead in gallium oxide power devices, and expectations are high. This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of the history of the evolution of power devices as well as the latest trends. *This seminar will be live-streamed using the video conferencing tool “Zoom” on the day of the event. Please refer to the tool for recommended environment requirements. The viewing URL will be emailed to you at a later date. ★Recording and photography during the class are strictly prohibited. 2) How to apply Please apply through the CMC Research seminar website.
