■ A six-year journey that began on a street corner in Meguro “Meguro Street Corner Christmas” was born in 2019 from the voices of local residents and volunteers. It all started with the passionate desire of local people to turn the area in front of the station into a place where people could stop and connect, rather than just a passing point. Having grown steadily over the past six years, the market has established itself as a warm place where people can connect with each other, based on the concept of “Thinking of You, Ethical Cultivating the Community and the Future.” Thousands of people visit every year, making it a winter tradition rooted in the local community. Last year, in 2024, a total of 5,131 people visited over three days. At the Christmas market, featuring ethical goods and food, a portion of admission fees and sales was donated to relief funds for victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake and to animal welfare organizations. An exhibition on the issue of marine plastic was also held at the venue. In 2022, the company received the Shinagawa Ward Environmental Award for its tree made from marine plastic, and continues to take on environmental challenges. ▶ Reference: 2024 official website: https://meguromachikado-christmas.com/

It beautifully depicts the diverse emotions of each person piling up like snow and then blossoming. ■ The streets of Meguro will be dyed white — This year’s planned highlights This year, we have a wide variety of programs planned throughout the city. It is served by four lines: JR East, Tokyu Corporation, Tokyo Metro, and Toei Subway, making it a highly convenient hub where people gather from many directions. In addition to being a tranquil residential environment, the area around the station has been redeveloped to attract commercial and office spaces, continuing to develop into an international district where a diverse range of people come and go. As a result, there is a demand for a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can interact and share their feelings. Christmas is a special season when everyone can open their hearts and share their feelings for others. “Meguro Snow Christmas” is being held with the hope that this small light that begins in Meguro will eventually spread throughout the world.

Gonnosukezaka Shopping Street, will be accumulated and spread throughout the entire city. And I hope that this feeling of tolerance will spread throughout the world.
